     I kinda doubt that’s quite it. The writer has stayed pretty true to the characters and how they’d act, so it’s more likely that SpongeBob didn’t know what Patrick would do and only did it believing he was doing the right thing. I could be wrong but we’ll see.

     Yeah, I don’t think Spongebob was aiming for a monopoly. Either he genuinely tried to do the right thing, albeit through… less than ethical means… or he has something far bigger in mind and just monopolizing the Bikini Bottom restaurant scene.

   I believe spongebob at first didn’t know, but when he saw the tortured one he didn’t know what to do. Maybe krabs has his parent hostage or something like that

   I’m actually not happy he turned out to be evil, especially after he fought so hard to stop the Tortured One.What was even the point of that?How useful could keeping Patrick or the others alive be?

     Keep in mind we don’t know the full side of his story yet. He may have not fully anticipated what exactly Patrick would do when he found out.

    Wow…And I thought spongebob was a great friend…THEN THE TRUTH WAS OUT IN THE END! SPONGEBOB MADE ALL OF THIS HAPPEN! PATRICK TRIED TO WARN BIKINI BOTTOM, BUT THEN HE THOUGHT IT WAS ALL MR.KRABS! IT WAS BOTH SPONGEBOB AND MR.KRABS FAULT! NOT PATRICK! PATRICK IS THE GOOD GUY! HES THE REAL HERO!
